Outdoor Ambassador Program

The Outdoor Ambassador Internship Program provides professional, life, leadership, and outdoor technical skills to historically underserved youth, ages sixteen to twenty, through fun, meaningful outdoor adventures.

Outdoor Ambassadors participate in diverse outdoor experiences and assist with our partner programs for younger youth. Through the program, they gain critical professional and leadership skills and a mentor to help them successfully achieve their educational and career pursuits. Outdoor Ambassadors serve for 40 hours or 80 hours over several weeks year-round.

Benefits of the internship include:
• Learning basic technical skills and actively participating in outdoor activities including canoeing, fishing, ropes course challenges, hiking and more!
• Developing professional and general career skills from LOOP NOLA staff mentors
• Assisting in LOOP NOLA programs for children
• Stipend for future education/career opportunities at the end of internship

“One thing I will take away from the internship is the ability to lead and manage a variety of different groups of people, from kids to adults.” - Cartez B.

Outdoor Ambassadors spend time with outdoor professionals in every industry, from retail to the National Parks system. Depending on the year, they can even gain skills in things like first aid, customer service, water testing, or rock climbing.
