The Perfect Outdoor Field Trip

Located in gorgeous New Orleans City Park and adjacent to Couturie Arboretum, LOOP NOLA is an ideal outdoor field trip destination. Our activities don’t require any previous experience: knowledgeable staff members provide participants with everything they need to have a fun, safe time in City Park. Options include:

• Challenge Course

  • Low Ropes Team Building: Grades 4+

  • High Ropes Adventure: Grades 6+

• Field Based Team building: Grades PreK+

• Canoeing & Kayaking

  • With extra safety precautions: Grades 3+

  • Traditional guided paddles: Grades 6+

• Survival Skills

  • Navigation, fire-building, shelter building, and more: Grades 4+

• Adventure Sprouts:

  • Nature based activities designed to help young people feel more comfortable in the outdoors while learning something new about the local environment: Grades PreK - 2nd

• Wild in the Wetlands

  • Nature based activities designed to help young people feel more comfortable in the outdoors while learning something new about the local environment: Grades 3+

• STEM Programs:

  • Science-based lessons with specific curriculum plans geared toward Louisiana State Science Standards: Grades 3+

• Service Learning Program:

  • Students investigate the impacts of invasive species and human activity on local ecosystems. They will work alongside LOOP NOLA staff to restore City Park lagoons and Couturie Forest by identifying and removing invasive species while learning how individual actions can protect Louisiana's natural resources. Activities - Canoeing and Hiking: Grades 6+

• Fishing and Casting Classes

  • Shore Side Casting Class: Grades 4+

  • From shore, catch-and-release: Grades 6+

• Special needs programs: Grades PreK+
