Camping 101 Program
Learn camping basics to safely go on your next big adventure!
LOOP NOLA has hosted camping trips locally and regionally for hundreds of youth over the years, and we want to pass on our knowledge to help your family or group take a trip this year. Whether you’re gearing up for your first family camping trip or your scouting troop is finally old enough for their first overnight trip, a Camping 101 Program can help set you up for success!
Our Camping 101 program is for both children and their parents/guardians to have fun working together and learning the basics of camping. The program is geared toward parents/guardians with elementary and middle school children, but all ages and experience levels are welcome. By the end of the program, you and your child will learn:
Basic gear required and how to use the gear properly
Fire-building and fire safety
Campsite setup and safety
Tent setup and breakdown
The best local areas to camp
Camping 101 programs are available by request.
